最高殊勲選手

Our Japanese followers (Gripers?) are in full celebration today after their country successfully defended their World Baseball Classic crown. A 1oth inning single by Ichiro Suzuki (By far the most reliable Suzuki on the road today) won the game for the Japanese after Yu Darvish couldn't hold a 1 run lead in the 9th.

Seriously, he's really good.

Daisuke Matsuzaka won his 2nd straight WBC MVP award. They have little choice but to name the thing after him at this point. And probably redesign it to look like dice. Matsuzaka's numbers were not as eye-popping as they were in the 2006 WBC, but it's clear that opposing teams can't figure him out when he attacks the strike zone consistently.

The Japanese benefited from excellent defense by their middle infield of Hiroyuki Nakajima (SS) and Akinori Iwamura (2B), something that Team USA distinctly lacked.

Speaking about the WBC, Bud Selig announced said it would be back in 2013 and bigger than ever, a promise that Joba Chamberlain claimed he made first.

Bring... me... BACOOOON!!!!!

We'll have a our predictions for the upcoming baseball season up on Monday, so stay tuned. Or just follow us on a RSS. Chances are we'll be pretty accurate since I correctly predicted Japan would defend their WBC title and Bojo correctly predicted that steroids wasn't even close to the most disgusting thing A-Rod could do. (More on that story as it develops)
